As we prepare for a socially distanced Thanksgiving, Lucy Biggers headed to the 150-year-old Lee Brothers Farm in New Jersey to see how cranberries are farmed.

The perennial plants are good for the climate, because the fields where they grow don’t have to be tilled every year. This regenerative practice allows the root system to sequester carbon.

Seven generations of the Lee family have gotten wet harvesting down to a science, reusing 90% of their water across the farm.

And finally — Lucy got a special recipe for cranberry sauce from the Lees themselves.
